On 2 April 2026, customers at Campinas Municipal Market in Brazil waited more than two hours for fish before Good Friday. One shopper arriving at 8:40 a.m. found 130 people ahead of her; customers wanting cleaned fish needed a second ticket.

The seasonal numbering system ran from 1 to 999 and had already restarted by 11 a.m. Staff estimated roughly 2,000 customers a day. A religious food custom temporarily turned the market into a high-volume numbered service, with a second branch in the queue for preparation as well as purchase.
