During Bangui's fuel shortage, people carrying containers gathered beside queues of cars and motorcycles. Local reporting in June 2024 published a photograph from the Marabena-roundabout station and documented long lines at several points across the city.
The fuel had different uses: moving a car, operating a motorcycle for work, powering equipment or carrying a small supply home. Yet everyone reached the same narrow point of distribution and had to wait for service.
Containers and vehicles differed in size, but each became one turn in the line. A small amount of fuel supported not only movement but the continuation of work and household life.
