On 2 March 2020, voters lined up at polling stations across Guyana, including West Demerara Secondary School, during the general and regional elections. A field report by Guyana’s Department of Public Information recorded voters young and old waiting for their opportunity to cast a ballot. The early line made political participation—decisions about public life and the country’s future—a physical experience of waiting one’s turn. This documents election day in 2020 and does not claim that the same queue exists now.
